They now seek a head of HR to join their team. You will report to the CEO with a dotted line to the Asset management HRD and HR in London. You have 10 years experience. You are able to manage senior stakeholders – CEO’s Board Chairman and NED’s with ease. You need to have great EQ to exercise judgement across a range of issues and have the ability to influence some varied stakeholders across the business in SA and globally.

JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • You will be required to lead the human capital function in the South Africa business managing a team of circa 4 people;
  • You will be required to be able to set the strategic direction of the people agenda to support the business strategy working with the CEO and the HRD for the asset management business whilst also being able to oversee and manage the more operational day to day activities;
  • You will be responsible for recruitment, talent identification & succession across the SA business;
  • You will be required to have the ability to support transformation
  • You will be responsible for performance and reward – ensuring that the HR strategy supports the delivery of a high-performance agenda and that reward structures are appropriately aligned to business and performance outcomes;
  • You will be required to have the ability to manage day to day HR operational matters such as offers, onboarding, employee relations matters and payroll;
  • You will be responsible for supporting the diversity, inclusion and wellbeing agenda in line with local legal requirements,
  • You will be, as the leader of the human resources function within the group division, responsible for designing and implementing people practices that drive a high-performance culture;
  • You will be required to lead and manage the HR function for the group functions;
  • You will be required to be the custodian of the development and implementation of relevant HR policies, procedures and practices to support achievement of the HR strategy;
  • You will be required to facilitate the establishment of an appropriate and aligned business culture which enables the achievement of strategic objectives;
  • You will be required to effectively manage change programmes and interventions;
  • You will be required to implement and maintain performance management principles and practices;
  • You will be required to manage strategic workforce planning to ensure current and future labour needs are met;
  • You will be required to design and implement customised talent retention and succession practices;
  • You will be required to manage and implement people development initiatives;
  • You will be required to keep up with industry trends by reading literature and communicating with peers;
  • You will be required to monitor market trends;

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You have a minimum of 10 years current, relevant experience with an ability to manage senior stakeholders including CEO, board chairman and non-executive directors.
  • You have a degree in HR ideally at honours level;
  • You have a minimum of 10 years’ current, relevant experience in generalist human resources role in the financial services industry;
  • You have experience operating in multiple geographies – this would be a distinct advantage;
  • You have diversity management knowledge;
  • You have talent management knowledge;
  • You have change management knowledge.
